Passover Seder Question

I asked last night for how many years the ancient Hebrews were actually enslaved in Egypt. As it turns out, it was a difficult question to answer. Any explanations of dates that I could find are scholarly deductions, and there happen to be many secular scholarly deductions as well as traditional Jewish chronological dates floating around. According to Rav Binny Freedman (who doesn't bother to explain his deduction), the Hebrews were enslaved for two hundred and ten years.
