FDA Manufacturing Plant Registration

All food importers should be aware that their manufacturing plants need to be updating/renewing their FDA Registrations in the coming 3 months. Please see the below information and let your manufacturers know in case they have not marked this important information on their calendars!

Section 415 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) [21 U.S.C. § 350d] requires food facilities that are required to register with FDA to renew such registrations during the period beginning on October 1 and ending on December 31 of each even-numbered year. If you registered your food facility before October 1, 2014 or updated your food facility registration before October 1, 2014, you must return to the FDA Industry Systems site at http://www.access.fda.gov/ before December 31, 2014 to renew your registration and to provide us with any updated information, if applicable.

  1. No. FDA will provide an abbreviated biennial registration renewal process for a registrant of a facility that has not had any changes to its registration information since the registrant submitted the previous registration or registration renewal for the facility.

Please note you are replying to a blog post of ours from 2014. As we specifically notated in the post all manufacturing plants must be “updating/renewing” their registrations. I am unsure what you are replying “no” to?
