UPDATE 9/12/22: Updates to MPF as well as other fees can be found in this link to the federal register. MPF minimum fees will be increasing to $29.66. The maximum will be raised to $575.35. Informal fees will increase to $2.37.
UPDATE 9/9/21: This year’s increase to MPF as well as other fees can be found in the federal register. MPF minimum fees will be increasing to $27.25 while the maximum will be set at $538.40. Informal fees will increase to $2.22.
UPDATE 9/9/20: CBP has again announced an increase to MPF, informal entry fees alongside several other increases. The table below has been updated to reflect this information while additional changes can be found in the official federal register notice. The MPF Minimum will be increasing to $27.23, with the maximum set at $528.33. Informal fees will be increasing to $2.18.
UPDATE 9/4/19: At the beginning of last month, CBP announced they will be updating the MPF and informal entry fees again, set to be implemented on October 1st, 2019. The table below has been updated to reflect this information. MPF Minimums will be increasing to $26.79, the maximum to $519.76. Informal fees are going up to $2.14. Additional fee changes can be found in the federal register notice.
CBP (Customs and Border Protection) has recently announced the minimum and maximum charges for Merchandise Processing Fee (MPF) will be increased for the second time this year, beginning October 1, 2018. They had previously increased the bracket ranges on January 1, 2018. During this phase beginning 10/1/18 they will increase the minimum charge to $26.22 and the maximum charge to $508.77.
Please note the MPF calculation rate will remain the same at 0.3464% of the commercial value of the product imported. The informal entry fee (valued less than $2500) which increased in January from $2 to $2.05 will also increase on October 1st to $2.10.
Products imported under trade agreements which nullify MPF charges will remain unchanged unless the specific agreement has also been reworded.
